Today I entered this print into my local photography club competition and it won first place in Professional Level – Small Print (11X14) color. This will be another item I can check off of my “Goals for 2011.” To enter prints into competitions. The print is on its way to Illinois for State Competition. Wish me luck there.
My beautiful youngest daughter – K. She painted her face so that I would have an interesting subject to photograph. She’s usually very hesitant to pose for me, I don’t know why because she’s just gorgeous. Off camera flash, I converted to black and white and I used some free stamps in photoshop. I also enhanced her eyes following Alexis tutorial (just the eye part).
Speaking of Alexis, she’s created a few tutorials and even put up free texture. If you get a chance drop by her site.
Today is Team-Up Thursday. As most of you know by now I have 2 partners. How this works is that there is a theme assigned and you go about your own way and take a picture for that theme. Then you combine it with your partners. neither one of you know what the other is shooting until it’s time to put them together.
Staci took a picture of this delicious looking cake. I get the feeling she made it herself. Pretty nice job decorating it.
I just received this story board I ordered for as a studio sample. All I can say is “WOW” and I love it. It looks classy and it is sturdy. It’s an unusual size but since it’s styrene mounted and has an easel on the back, it works perfectly. I love the simplicity of it. Of course it helps to have gorgeous clients!
I have spent the last couple of days editing and placing orders. I’ve been busy and that’s great. I have fallen a little behind on my friends blogs but I will be visiting soon. Hope everyone is having a great week.
Does anyone know what this flower is? I bought it at the supermarket but it
didn’t have a name. I like the color and the texture
and the ever talented Alexis from Challenge Accepted has created some “Actions” for me. Here is one. She did all the work and layered it on top of one of my pink roses. Now I know this type of processing is not for everyone, but i asked for it just like that. I like to change things up a bit now and again and this is the type of treatment I wanted for some of my flowers. I think Alexis is pretty amazing with her photoshop and photography skills. If you get a chance drop by her blog and see what she’s up to.
“She’s Blushing” my pink rose that is. I think that is what I will call this action. “She’s blushing, by XOLEXO.” Thank you so much Alexis.
Meet Holly and Louise. They came by today for a mini session. This young man is a character. He had us all laughing so hard. Holly said she was bringing him again for another session with his guitar. I cannot wait!
I love days like today when I can spend a lot of time behind the camera, interacting with my clients.
