I took a much-needed break from the computer this weekend (at least for a couple of hours) and this is what I did, today David and I ran The Chicago Police Memorial 5K Foot Chase. This was an accomplishment for me because last time I ran a race was the winter of 2009 and I was training for longer runs but then needed knee surgery and it’s taken me this long to get back to running. and last night we went out with some friends to a Halloween Party – just an opportunity to dress up and act up . . .
It started out as a self Portrait but David ended up helping me. I have posted a few more to my Facebook page HERE. I’d like for you to help me pick my next avatar picture. Please go there and vote. Thanks!
Meet Mr.” I” at just a few weeks old already has a mind of his own. He was not about to sleep for me – well, that’s o.k. I’ll work with that.
I got this hat made for me by Melissa (Hooked by Melissa). I’m really happy with the way it turned out. You can see a few more of these images on my facebook page (here).
Hade this amazing (and cute) couple in the studio. We had so much fun.
I just love what I do – capturing people and the love they share. I love capturing moments in the lives of people. A couple of years from now this couple will be running after a beautiful child and this pregnancy will be a thing of the past – but it’s captured and will forever be there for them to look at.
My mom celebrated her 71st birthday on Friday. Of course I insisted on a portrait of her. I think she looks great.
Happy Birthday Mom!
You wouldn’t know it now but it’s taken many years to convince my mom that we “need” to have pictures of her. She would always hide when someone pulled out a camera. There are many years of her life that are not “documented” with pictures. I finally told her, your grandchildren are going to want them one day and there won’t be any good ones. LOL Well, the last couple of years she’s been more of a “willing” model.
Yeap, I had this cute little baby in my studio. She’s just adorable. Ms. E reminds me of the famous “Gerber Baby” in this shot. I’ll have a few more sneak peeks a little later.
I’ve been really busy getting ready for my first show and I must say it was a huge success in that I got my company name out there in the community. I met a lot of wonderful people and had fun.
I want to thank my Mother-In-Law for helping and staying with me for the entire time and my brother-in-law, father-in-law and husband for your help setting up, breaking down and transporting all of this “stuff.” I really appreciate your help and support. Love ya!
Who says studio lighting has to be boring? I’m glad to be able to have creative freedom to try to play with different aspects of photography and lighting.
The idea is not original. I saw a picture of a painting on facebook and the “drama” of the image impacted me so much I immediately wanted to duplicate it. Of course that was a painting and I was creating a picture. None the less I came pretty darn close.
I used a gel light and I like the red better than the yellow.
Had these sibling in the studio – they are super smart and so much fun to be around. The funniest thing is that I couldn’t tell them to be serious because that would cause them immediately to start laughing. It was just so funny!
I did some low key shots and some with Ms. L’s dance outfit and Mr. Z’s Karate attire but I thought these would be the best to share.
